House and Senate Pass Reconciliation to President’s Desk

“Yesterday, Congress accomplished the incredible feat of passing the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act,” Kris Ullman, President of Eagle Forum, stated. “Congress has been working tirelessly on this bill for months and has achieved a product that will help every single American.”

The reconciliation bill passed after nearly a year of Members speaking with constituents, consulting fiscally conservative experts, and negotiating important policy initiatives. The bill received endorsements from over 1,000 organizations, businesses, and leaders, including Eagle Forum. It is now with the President to sign into law.

American families will reap incredible benefits from this bill. Lawmakers were able to extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts set to expire this year, boost the Child Tax Credit, and remove the death tax so that farms can remain in the hands of family members. More resources will be spent on border control — to detain and deport criminals who are here illegally — to make our communities safer. Plus, Planned Parenthood will be prohibited from taking federal funds through the Medicaid program that has subsidized their heinous acts on babies and mothers.

“The One Big, Beautiful Bill reins in decades of reckless spending, secures our nation’s borders, protects the most vulnerable among us, and provides tax relief for all American families,” Ullman continued. “We encourage all members of Congress to continue their dedication to the people of America and the security of our nation through even more spending cuts and reforms in future legislation.”

As we celebrate our Nation’s 249th Independence Day, for the first time in years, we will pay less at the grocery store. According to a survey conducted by the American Farm Bureau Federation, a cookout for ten people will cost around $70.92, which is down 30 cents from last year. While the price of some meat products is still high due to diseases and supply issues, others cost less, signaling an ease in inflation. This positive change did not happen by accident. President Donald Trump and Congress have been working to reduce the cost-of-living expenses for families across the country.

This Independence Day, we can celebrate the system that our Founding Fathers put into place. We live in a nation governed “by the people and for the people.” We currently have leaders in our federal government who are working hard to respect the sovereignty of the states and ensure that every American can enjoy the freedoms that our Constitution bestows. Perhaps in years to come, we can enjoy an even cheaper cookout as well, thanks to the One Big, Beautiful Bill!
