The designated terrorist group CAIR and its allies are STILL mobilizing to get more Islamic inclusion at next week’s State Board of Education (SBOE) meeting, as the SBOE works to finalize the Social Studies standards for 5.5 million Texas students.
One of the most consequential items on the agenda is the second reading and final adoption of new high school Social Studies standards (TEKS), including U.S. History, U.S. Government, World History and World Geography.
The Board is also scheduled to consider final adoption of Applied Personal Financial Literacy standards. Students would develop 1-, 5-, and 10-year financial, education, career, and personal goals and create a 10-year personal financial plan.
While CAIR continues to mobilize around the SBOE and what our children will learn, parents and taxpayers who believe Texas students deserve strong academics, an honest understanding of American and Western history, and respect for our nation's founding principles need to make their voices heard.
The SBOE adopts the standards that establish what Texas students are expected to learn, reviews instructional materials, establishes graduation requirements, and has important responsibilities involving the Permanent School Fund.

Email your SBOE Member:
Ask your SBOE Member to support the High School Social Studies TEKS that came out of their last set of meetings along with several necessary amendments that will be offered to keep CRT and DEI concepts out of our classrooms.
If your SBOE Member is a Republican, ask them to oppose any Democrat amendment. None of the amendments they would offer will align with Conservative principles we know work for education.
Ask your SBOE Member to support the TEA’s Personal Financial Literacy TEKS and oppose the LJ Francis substitute TEKS.

Please register to testify by this Friday at 5 p.m. When you register, choose the option to speak on Monday, August 31. Choose Agenda Item 2 for High School Social Studies, and/or Agenda Item 3 for Applied Personal Financial Literacy.
The Bottom Line:
Our ultimate goal is for Texas to graduate students who can read and write, are proficient in math, know how to think for themselves, love their state and nation, and understand our Founders and why the Constitutional Republic they created with prayer and wisdom changed the entire world for the better.
They need an understanding of free markets and capitalism through a solid economics curriculum if they are to become self-sufficient and responsible adults. People on the Left want them indoctrinated with ideas that could destroy our nation over time.
For those who want more detail:
In these meetings, we need all the Republican SBOE members to hold the line on teaching factual American and Texas History without pushing critical race theory concepts (CRT) or pushing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). These can slip in easily with poorly written TEKS or by allowing a bit of leeway here and there.
We also don’t want students indoctrinated into foreign cultures while ignoring their faults. There is a reason everyone wishes God had placed them in America at birth. He has placed us here, so we must steward the gift well. Our students deserve to get the same type of education as our founding fathers had, the greatest generation had, and that will help them love their state and nation.
The current draft of the Personal Financial Literacy TEKS is a quality product. We oppose the substitute TEKS presented by LJ Francis as the draft removes foundational principles and appears to align with a program called NextGen Financial Literacy. We took a cursory look at this program and it is not right for our students. It contains many paths that will easily guide students toward woke classroom discussions.
It has other faults as well. We found an example situation that includes a couple who are living together before marriage who are looking at getting a mortgage. (If this example is included for our students, it should include a warning that this choice ends up with a higher chance of divorce, which makes both partners poorer, and any children they have before or after marriage will have a higher chance of being raised in poverty than for couples who marry without ever having lived together or with another “partner.”)
Learning materials should never present harmful or immoral ideas to our students. There are many other problem ideas in the program – we don’t want to make our TEKS a perfect match for it!
