House Committee Holds Hearing Questioning Fauci’s Pandemic Response

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic held a hearing this week to question former National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci regarding his response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Members of the committee brought to light Fauci and his staff’s attempts to hide information while peddling lies to the American people. Even though the hearing gave us answers we already knew, it’s important for our elected officials to ensure this type of corruption doesn’t happen again.

A new study conducted by BMJ Public Health published this week said the quiet part out loud regarding the effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. They compiled data on excess deaths in over 40 countries from 2020-2022. In 2020, there were slightly over 1 million excess deaths. The following year, with both “containment measures” and vaccines in use, the world logged the highest number of excess deaths. In 2022, when the vaccine was readily available and heavily pushed, excess deaths only dropped by 200,000. The American people were told that getting the vaccine would keep us from dying or infecting other people. If that were true, why didn’t we see a sharp drop in excessive deaths?

Americans were being forced to take the COVID-19 vaccine in order to work to provide for their families.  Sadly, too many had adverse health effects- some fatal. Those who refused to take the jab or made their injuries public were called “anti-vaxxers” and “fearmongers.” Now the science is giving validity to the complaints. The BMJ Public Health study analyzed results from the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine trials and found that certain health issues were heightened such as ischaemic stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and brain hemorrhage. Other health conditions reported through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) included cardiovascular diseases and blood clotting disorders.

The study explicitly states:

This is unprecedented and raises serious concerns. During the pandemic, it was emphasised by politicians and the media on a daily basis that every COVID-19 death mattered and every life deserved protection through containment measures and COVID-19 vaccines. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the same morale should apply. Every death needs to be acknowledged and accounted for, irrespective of its origin.

House members had a lot of material to present at the hearing on Monday. Fauci was questioned on the reasoning behind his decisions to take away American’s basic freedoms. When questioned about masking children, he stated, “I was not aware of studies that in fact, that would be a very difficult study to do.” Then, when questioned about six-foot social distancing, he said, “You know, I don’t recall. It sort of just appeared. I don’t recall, like, a discussion of whether it should be 5 or 6 or whatever.”

Representative Rich McCormick (R-GA) played a clip of Fauci stating that they were “making it difficult” for Americans in order to force them to get vaccinated. Fauci walked back that statement by acknowledging that vaccine mandates could cause hesitancy in receiving future vaccines. However, he never condemned the vaccines themselves. Rep. McCormick gave a sharp rebuke of his actions by saying:

You affected people’s ability to work, travel, be educated, to actually flourish in American society, to self-determine what is our God-given rights. Shame on you.

Fauci admitted that his staffers had conflicts of interest, used personal emails to hide information from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and that he signed nearly every grant proposal without reviewing them. While he doesn’t believe that the Wuhan lab created the virus, he said he still keeps “an open mind.” However, he never pushed for a timely investigation into the origins of COVID-19.

House Republicans have been diligent in introducing language in “must-pass” bills that would rectify past wrongdoings or restrict any future actions as it pertains to a pandemic. Currently, the House is considering the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act “NDAA” for Fiscal Year 2025 (H.R. 8070). Several members have introduced amendments that reinstate employment for military personnel who were fired or downgraded because of their refusal to take the COVID vaccine. There is also an amendment to prohibit funds from going to the World Health Organization (WHO) which perpetuated the Chinese-style lockdowns and is currently trying to become the ultimate authority on future pandemics.

Eagle Forum applauds House Republicans for holding the Left accountable for their extreme actions during the pandemic even when the topic fades from headlines. We are tracking the progress of these amendments as well as measures in upcoming appropriations bills to restrict funds from being spent on crony COVID efforts.
