Vance Advances the American Dream

Wednesday night, Vice Presidential candidates J.D. Vance and Tim Walz squared off on the debate stage to prove who could be the best right-hand man in the next administration. While this position is seen as more of a behind-the-scenes role, the VP has certain duties that can be quite powerful. Besides stepping up to lead the nation if the President becomes unable to do so, the VP breaks ties in the U.S. Senate, certifies elections, leads task forces, and represents the President domestically and abroad. Who the President chooses as his running mate is an important task, and it seems that former President Donald Trump chose well once again.

Vance was declared the winner by multiple news outlets and not just because of his baby blues or charming smiles toward the camera. His ability to articulate his position and clarify Trump’s positions was unmatched. Conservatism was weaved throughout his America-first, energy independence, and pro-family talking points. He expertly navigated biased questions from the moderators and countered Walz’s responses all while keeping his cool. He clearly showed confidence, intelligence, and conviction in each of his responses.

Walz, on the other hand, showed trepidation from the start. The man who has been billed as a loveable mid-western dad gave viewers more of a deer-in-headlights vibe. He seemed to rearrange the wording of his talking points and stumble over his responses. For example, he claimed that he has “become friends with school shooters.” He even called himself a “knucklehead at times” when pressed on his lie about being in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests. He defended abortion rights, censorship, and Green New Deal policies - all of the problems that have wrecked our economy over the last few years.

Perhaps Vance’s best moment was when he fact-checked the “fact-checkers.” Before every debate, the candidates and moderators come to a consensus about the rules of the debate. After the Trump-Harris debate where the moderators only “fact-checked” Trump, the moderators of the VP debate agreed not to do the same to Vance. That sentiment didn’t last long though. In a discussion about immigration, Vance mentioned that places like Springfield, Ohio are overwhelmed with illegal immigrants in schools and hospitals as well as driving up the competition for housing. One moderator, Margaret Brennan, then claimed that the Haitians in Springfield have legal status under the Temporary Protected Status program. Knowing that Brennan was purposely trying to quash Vance’s points, he immediately corrected her by saying:

The rules were that you guys weren’t gonna fact-check and since you’re fact-checking me I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on, There’s an application called the CBP One app where you can go on as an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand. That is not a person coming in, applying for a green card, and waiting for 10 years. That is the facilitation of illegal immigration by our own leadership.

Keep in mind, our current VP is presidential candidate Kamala Harris. She used her role as another stepping stone to the top position. Instead of addressing the border crisis after being deemed “border czar,” she made “woke” policies her priority. She was the first VP in history to visit a Planned Parenthood clinic, appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race (a show featuring drag queens), and has attended pride parades. As the first female VP in history, she has used her power to oppress and erase women. Vance has a record that upholds life in the womb, reigns in the aggressive gender ideology agenda, and supports policies that champion the family unit. He would bring common sense back into this office.

At the end of the debate, both candidates cordially shook hands, chatted off-mic, and hugged their wives. In a time where the party divide has become visceral, professional decorum was refreshing to see. Ultimately, Vance showed strength through leadership and incredible wisdom- a key component for the Vice-Presidential office that has been lacking for the last four years. Afterward, Vance shared on X the spiritual insight that eased his mind during the debate:
