Urge Gov. Abbott to Fast-track Legislation to “Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids”

December 30, 2024 | Montgomery County, TX

Send a message to Governor Greg Abbott asking him to declare the sexualization of children and the exposure of Texas children to pornographic and sexually explicit material in public schools and libraries to be an Emergency Item in the upcoming Texas Legislative Session.

This will allow state lawmakers to consider the issue—which is a Texas GOP legislative priority—as soon as the new Legislative Session starts on January 14.

In the last Texas Legislative Session, House Bill 900 set new school library standards that prohibit sexually explicit and educationally unsuitable material. However, many school districts are not complying with—or are misapplying—the law. You can read more about the issue in this article from Texas Scorecard.
