Conservatives made great strides in the Texas Primary Election. Let’s keep the momentum going locally!
Most voters focus on the “big” races, but may not be aware that there are two very important local elections taking place in May that will impact their daily lives. Join us to learn more about these elections, how to research the candidates, and meet some of the candidates in person.
May 4th Uniform Election - Non-partisan elections for school boards, MUDs, city officials, and the new county appraisal board positions.
May 28th Montgomery County Sheriff Runoff Election - We have invited both candidates to introduce themselves at the beginning of the meeting and answer a few questions:
Sheriff Rand Henderson - confirmed
Captain Wesley Doolittle - confirmed
Since the non-partisan races don't indicate party affiliation on the ballot, it can be difficult to determine which candidates will stand for Christian Conservative principles. We'll discuss strategies for researching the candidates so you can vote biblical values.
Why Are These Elections So Important?
Local boards and councils decide how much tax to collect and how that money will be spent.
Some Municipal Utility District (MUD) boards are stacked with representation from big development companies and have little or no citizen representation.
The May 4 Uniform Election will be voters' first opportunity to elect representatives to the Montgomery County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
The County Sheriff is elected by the people and reports to the people, not to the state or federal government. He has the power to defend county residents against unconstitutional mandates.
Your choices at the local level often affect you and your family even more than national races. Attend our April 4th meeting to learn how to vote for candidates who will uphold your values in our county.
