Protect the Ban on Porn in Schools, HB 900

HB 900 was a hard-fought victory in the Texas Legislature, with all of the forces of woke ideology working to oppose us. Also known as the Reader Bill, the legislation aims at removing sexually explicit reading materials from our children’s libraries, putting the onus for the contents of books sold to public schools on the vendors who will be unable to sell to Texas schools if found in violation.

Tomorrow, the State Board of Education (SBOE) is meeting to discuss the implementation of HB 900.

This report from Jennifer Eckhart, Executive Director of Montgomery County Citizens Defending Freedom (CDF), provides more information:

“This Thursday, August 31, the State Board of Education is meeting to discuss the process of HB 900. This is the Bill that requires ratings on the books in the school libraries, so that parents can be aware of what material might be in them that is not suitable for their child. If you are able to come to Austin and support action taken to be as the Bill intended, and not watered down, please come!”

It is short notice, but that is often the case when fighting the good fight.

See meeting details on the SBOE website here.
